£500 ANGEL GRANT AWARDED TO CARRINGTON ANIMAL RESCUE, MANCHESTER
I never thought I’d write a post like this. But right now, I’m at my breaking point, and I need to be honest with you, because the animals depend on it.
This time of year is always the hardest. People are stretched thin, money is tighter than ever, and I completely understand that… truly. But at this very moment, we have 32 animals in our care, some in foster, some still waiting at the rescue, and 6 poorly cats battling cat flu who need daily treatment, warmth, and a safe place to heal.
And while I’ll always keep fighting for them, I need to admit something I’ve been hiding: I’m struggling.
Not just a little, to the point where I’ve finally had to start counselling and medication for depression. It’s not sympathy I’m asking for. It’s just the truth. The rescue I pour my heart into is slowly draining every last bit of me… but I can still ask for help. The animals can’t.
Being 8 months pregnant makes the emotional rollercoaster even harder. My body is tired, my mind is exhausted, and for the first time ever… I can’t do the Christmas events, the fundraisers, the running around. I physically can’t, and admitting that breaks my heart more than you know. I’m usually the one who never stops but now I’m the one who needs looking after.
Right now, we are desperately short on kitten food, cat litter, blue roll/kitchen roll, puppy pads, and funds. On Thursday I have one spare hour to go and buy supplies… if we can somehow manage to raise enough to get them (Nicole, Carrington Animal Rescue)
Unable to ignore this desperate cry for help, which is all too familiar at the moment, The Sanctuary Angels awarded a £500 Angel Grant to Carrington Animal Rescue. And you'll be pleased to know the rescue is now in a much stronger position, thanks to an influx of help and support. Donations make a difference, practically and emotionally, giving these exhausted rescuers the moral support they so desperately need.
The Sanctuary Angels thank their amazing donors for making life-saving grants like this possible. We invite more people to donate (one-off or monthly) to ensure we can continue giving out grants and helping animals and their rescuers into the foreseeable future.
