November 2025: £500 Angel Grant sent to Ahimsa Animal Sanctuary UK (Essex)

Hi, first, thank you so much for all you do to support sanctuaries. Small sanctuaries like mine really struggle for funding. We have nine pot belly pigs, all of whom had nobody, and nowhere to go, if we didn’t take them, and they would not have made it. We have six adults and three piglets. The piglets were abandoned in some woods at a few weeks old, and left to die.

We are desperate for funds to winter-proof the piglets' paddock. We tried to introduce the piglets into the big paddock with the big pigs, but it did not go well, with one piglet suffering a nasty facial wound, which luckily is now healed beautifully. We used our last funds to erect a permanent shelter in the big field for the piglets, including hardstanding and a 10 x 8 beautiful shed. Now we need to pivot and lay some hardstanding in the small paddock, as we are on Essex clay, which turns into a quagmire over winter, to give them a safe non-slip area to get off the mud.

Please consider us for one of your amazing grants, which would change their lives, and mine, trying to look after them with mobility issues. Sanctuary life feels very lonely at times, so knowing you are out there supporting small sanctuaries makes a world of difference, thank you. Thank you so much, Louise
