Rachel Kabue is co-founder of the Vegan Society of Kenya. She is a passionate activist and a proponent of plant-based diets as a way to end animal exploitation. The Vegan Society of Kenya has been instrumental in introducing the vegan message to Kenya and beyond.
Rachel also rescues animals. She owns and runs an animal shelter, the Nairobi Feline Sanctuary, that is home to over 600 cats and 14 dogs.
The Sanctuary Angels were excited to award a £500 Angel Grant to Rachel's animal shelter.
She told us what the grant meant to her and how it will help her work with animals:
Dear Amanda and The Sanctuary Angels, On behalf of the Nairobi Feline Sanctuary, I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous grant in support of our new quarantine area for cats. Thanks to your contribution, we are now able to move forward with building a dedicated space that will significantly enhance the health and well-being of the cats in our care. This quarantine area will allow us to safely isolate sick or newly admitted cats, helping to prevent the spread of illness and ensuring a more secure and sanitary environment for all animals. Your support demonstrates a strong commitment to animal welfare, and we are deeply appreciative of your partnership in this important work. We look forward to sharing updates on the progress of the project and the positive impact it will have on our rescue and rehabilitation efforts. Thank you again for your generosity and belief in our mission. With sincere appreciation, Rachel Kabue, Nairobi Feline Sanctuary
