Lowhills Animal Sanctuary, Rugby, UK

THE SANCTUARY ANGELS were delighted to be able to send a £300 Angel grant to Lowhills Animal Sanctuary (LAS), as part of their Summer Sanctuary Programme 2022. LAS, a non-profit organisation in Rugby, Warwickshire, the UK, is a sanctuary and rescue specialising in nervous, scared and abused cats, cats with FIV/FeLV, and feral cats, in need of rehabilitation and rehoming. The sanctuary takes care of cats that are unable to be rehomed for ongoing medical reasons, age, specific needs or not being able to live in a normal household. LAS currently has five sanctuary cats that live there on a permanent basis. All cats in need of a new home are posted with their details and the homes they will be looking for. All homes are home-checked and donations apply. LAS operates a non-destruction policy unless their vets have said otherwise and all other options have been considered and exhausted. LAS rehabilitates using positive reinforcement, learning theory and science-based methods to try and give the animal a chance at being rehomed. LAS occasionally has dogs, chickens, horses and other animals depending on space and being able to fulfil those animals' needs. Sophie, who runs, LAS, said: "Ahh that's brilliant, thank you! It will go towards some of the vet bills and running costs. Thank you from me and the cats. Xxx"
