Phoenix, recovering slowly at Happily Heifer After
Phoenix, recovering slowly at Happily Heifer After

One of our donors nominated Happily Heifer After for a £500 Angel Grant last year. She said they were doing beautiful work helping neglected, abused and mistreated farm animals in Australia. Finally able to help this amazing rescue, we are delighted to see that our grant will be used to help Phoenix (pictured) the horse recover from abuse and neglect.

"She still looks like an emaciated horse to the naked eye, but compared to her photos from last week, you can really tell the difference. We are so proud of how far she has come, and cannot wait to continue watching her improve. Thank you so much to each and every one of you who has sent donations to help her. We couldn't provide this life-changing care without your support! This week she has had her teeth done, the abscess in her hoof treated, her skin treated a few times and she's been wormed. She is on three buckets of feed per day, and constant access to soft hay. She has a rug she wears during day and multiple layered on her for nigh time to keep her toasty warm during this cold winter weather."
